We have chosen to cancel the December 29 Meeting and will announce later about the January 5 Meeting. Take time to be with family and friends this season and we will begin again in the new year.

OK, maybe that isn’t Eugene but it did snow last night and I’m not sure we need to travel anywhere tonight.

Tonight I have the holiday season on my mind and the current state of the world requires thoughts of less expensive ways to celebrate. Shouldn’t computing make this possible?
That will be on my mind at least and if you have other ideas to bring to the meeting tonight, please do. I wish we could say we’ll have representatives from HP and Dell and we’ll be raffling off notebooks to members…. Maybe next year.

Most of our members are of the “Older” persuasion and so we are not as involved in the Social Network scene all the kids. But maybe we should give it another look.
Facebook EPCUG Group Page
We now have an EPCUG Facebook group where we can share our calendar, news and a Forum with Facebook members as well as the real live folks we get to meet at the cafe.
Have a look and leave a note, or show whether you can attend a meeting or upload photos, video or anything you think our group may find interesting.
Clearly we’ll have to have some discussion about Facebook at a meeting and maybe one of us more informed about it can schedule an appearance.
It’s a whole new (to the oldsters) phenomena that the kids have been building up for years. It’s about time we learned more about it too and maybe find more folks who will join us through this page/group.
Our old website was too difficult for us to keep updated so we have now changed to this WordPress Blog format. With luck we will all now see new information every week as to what we have been able to do and share as a User Group.
